Arise releases on 15th October. Spitfire Audio and Composer Magazine ran a social media campaign to get #composer highlighted as a tag. Composer Magazine created three short videos and asked people to create something on the day and share it online. I wrote two short pieces and the basis for Arise was the second one I created.
Titles are always interesting when writing instrumental music. You want something appropriate to convey the feeling and atmosphere of the music. Some are easy and fit with the music from the start. Others have taken weeks to come up with something appropriate. Arise seemed quite fitting. To me it had an epic medieval soundtrack theme vibe to the piece. The titles also carry through to inspire the music videos – that is another challenge all by itself!
